The Philadelphia Health Corps is a program designed to “open doors to better health” in underserved Philadelphia communities.  Our members are assigned to community health centers and other community-based organizations where they provide services such as case management, outreach, health education presentations, and health promotion activities.

In members, we seek individuals who are interested in educating people about important health issues, are willing to work hard on behalf of the community, and plan to further their own education.  Emotional maturity and a strong commitment to community service are essential.  Previous experience related to health care or social work is a plus.

We welcome applications year round.  Generally, we conduct interviews during the spring and summer months and enroll members in September.  However, we occasionally have mid-year placements.

Visit our Position Descriptions section to learn more about what PHC members do at their host sites. Select Member Activities to learn what members do throughout their year of service. Select Benefits of Serving to learn about the tangible benefits of service; or select How to Apply to start the application process.
